Talk about doing something stupid. I went to get the bike out and it left as if the back brake was locked. Since I just took it out 2 days ago that seemed odd. I thought that maybe the brake got out of adjustment. I got out the clymers manual and adjusted the petal free play and rear brake light, both needed adjusting. Yesterday's ridin was better, but today's ride was good. I felt more confident. I didn't let a few minor fuck ups efffect my confidence. I rode 35 miles, got out onto more traffic and on higher speed roads. I got my speed up, briefly, ta 45mph, but mostly rode around 35-40, even on Stoney Point RD which has a speed limit of 50, speed demon that I ( Read more... )

I went ridin again today on the Reb. It wasn't my best day. I wasn't as confident and I didn't use the throttle smoothly. Or maybe because I wasn't smooth on the throttle I wasn't as confident. On Christmas Day I got out ridin the Reb again. Each day I dry to push myself a little farther. It was still in the 40s and cold. I rode on some different streets, but they are still 25MPH, but one long one with no stop signs so I could go a longer distance without stoppin. I went ridin on the Rebel again this mornin. Same 40 degree temps, but I felt colder. Possibly because I was goin faster. I got up into 2nd and 3rd gears, although I don't think I went faster than 30 MPH. Was out about 1 1/2 hours ridin around the side streets here. Some traffic, but not much. I went ridin on the Rebel this mornin. It was 40 out at 9:30 am and when I was done at 11 am, it was a balmy 45. I rode 10 miles up and down our cul-de-sac, practicin the basics.
